#MySexySaturday Hunky Highlander anyone? #erotic #timetravel #romance

Welcome to the 57th week of My Sexy Saturday.

This week, we’re traveling the universe as we give our wonderful sci-fi romance, of any subgenre, a nod to entertaining us with their wonderful stories. Have you ever wondered just what those sexy sci-fi girls are thinking when they write those fantastic stories? Well, here’s your chance to see just how good they are at weaving their unforgettable stories.

The closest to sci-fi from my backlist would have to be Lost Time, an erotic time-travel romance. Hunky Highlander anyone?

Within this frame, his curse is time…

Hannah Keys thinks she’s setting off on the trip of her dreams—a month in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland—but after one mishap after another—beginning with her best friend abandoning her in the airport and ending with the man of her dreams dead—she’s renaming it the vacation from hell.

When Hannah discovers a four-hundred-year-old portrait in Wales, she is intrigued and somewhat saddened by the handsome Highlander portrayed by the artist’s masterful, lifelike strokes. But when she runs into the majorly hunky model for the painting—in the flesh, in the middle of the night—she learns first-hand all about masterful strokes when she shares a night of medieval passion with him.

Lockhart Munro has been cursed inside the portrait until he meets Hannah Keys. For four hundred years, no one has heard him or seen him, let alone touched him. The one woman who can do all these things may be the key to his long-awaited freedom.

But if Hannah sets Lockhart free from his prison, will she be cursed to spend the rest of her lifetime without him?

Or perhaps freeing Lockhart will be just the beginning…

 So, here’s my 7...
Hannah was about to leave and Llach couldn’t stand the thought of her not being near him. He was loath to let her out of his sight, still fighting the darkness that was threatening. He reached for her hand. She immediately coiled her fingers around his as if he were her lifeline. Another blast of sexual heat slammed into him. Fuck! What is that? He wanted this woman, this stranger. He wanted her under him, on top of him, going down on him, crawling all over him. He could almost see it, feel it—he could smell her, he could taste her. He wanted to grab her and crush his lips to hers. His emotions were so erratic lately. He was impulsive and unpredictable. He never knew what to expect from himself anymore and this inexplicable, painful attraction he had for her just might prove his undoing.

He shook his head trying to clear it. “I know what you’re goin’ through,” he said, looking up at her. “Never knowing what’s real or imaginary. Feeling like no one believes anything you say. Wondering if you can believe yourself, your own thoughts and actions. My family share memories that I have no recollection of but they insist I was there when these things happened. I’ve had people I’ve known all my life come up to me and I don’t know them. That’s why when ya touched me I asked if I knew ya. I honestly don’t know anymore.” He moved over to the next seat, pulling her down beside him.

A tear streaked down her cheek. His chest tightened at the sight of it. He resisted the urge to reach out and catch it. “The worst is the lost time,” he continued.

“Lost time?” she whispered. Her luminescent green eyes searched his.

“Aye. Blackouts, they tell me. I do and I say things, and I don’t remember doing or saying them. Or I imagine things that are not. I dream people I don’t even know. I wake up in places that I did not go to sleep in and have no recollection of how I got there. Have ya experienced this?”

“Yes. I lost three days,” she said. He found himself spellbound by her accent and the sound of her voice. He could smell a hint of vanilla, from her shampoo he guessed, and he found himself inhaling deeply trying to absorb it into himself.

“But I feel like I lived more in those three days than I have my whole life,” she continued. “And now I just want to go back and live those three days over and over.” Her full bottom lip trembled. He wanted to reach out and trace that lovely lip with his thumb. What if she’d kissed him earlier? He wouldn’t have stopped her. Surely he would have been arrested for what would come next. Because he knew that kissing her would be explosive.

#MySexySaturday Take a 'Ride' with the Devil #historical #romance The Devil Take You

A Sexy Carriage Ride ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #Saturday7

Welcome to the 55th week of My Sexy Saturday.

Here's this week's prompt

This is our nod for our historical authors. Share with us your sexy carriage ride for the world to see! While some of you may be sad and think this is only for our historic authors, think again. A sexy carriage ride can be in a space ship, a ’67 Mustang or a covered wagon. Can you remember your first sexy carriage ride?

This excerpt is from The Devil Take You—not a carriage ride but a sexy encounter on a horse.

“Do ye wan’ more, Braelynn?” Gard asked.

“Aye!”

He slid his finger slowly from her. She clung to him, trembling, she felt him push slowly back into her, and then away. Keeping up a slow torturous rhythm that drove her closer to a precipice of sensation she’d never experienced before.

Bending her knees, she sought the pressure of his hand as he thrust it faster and deeper. She whimpered into his mouth and wanted to weep at the intense need he created in her as he continued his assault. Who knew this kind of feeling existed?

“Be ye lovin’ the devil, again, Braelynn?”

“Aye!”

“Be it wrong?” he sounded raw and savage.

“Nay,” she panted.

#MySexySaturday The Power of Love - A snip from #Highlander #historical #romance The Devil Take You

Welcome to the 40th week of My Sexy Saturday where a bunch of authors get together and share 7 paragraphs, 7 sentences or 7 words of a sexy snippet from a WIP or published work.

First I'd like to send thoughts and blessings to Lynn our My Sexy Saturday host and leader.

This week Lynn is facing some real-life obstacles and has requested excerpts that illustrate the love between between two people when the sexy fails.

I've selected a snip from historical romance, The Devil Take You

Excerpt:

“Dinna utter his name again.” Gard wound his hands into her soft damp hair.

“Ye gave me the strength and the weapon and the skill. I did wha’ ye taught me. I was brave enough ta do it, Gard. Because o’ you. I wouldna have been able ta do such a thing back at Ross-shire. Ye have saved my life this day.”

Brae unlaced his shirt. He kept his eyes closed, afraid she’d stop if he looked at her. He’d seen she was on the verge of tears.

“Touch me,” she begged. “Let me feel yor touch.”

Finally, he opened his eyes meeting hers. He had been afraid she would never want a man’s touch again. She took his hand, placing it at her waist; she moved it up over her ribs, forcing him to caress her until his thumb slid up the underside of her breast. She lifted herself onto her tiptoes, her mouth just inches from his. “I need ta feel ya, Gard. Please erase it fer both o’ us. I want ta smell ye on me. I want ta feel yor sweat on my skin. I want ta see only you. Feel only you. Hear only you. Taste only you.” She kissed his lips, wrapping her arms around him; she pulled him closer, pushing his shirt from his shoulders. He lowered her carefully to her back, following her lead. He made slow gentle love to her, branding her with his lips and body in an attempt to make them both forget.

Brae lay underneath his panting body, as he surged into her one last time. “I willna let ye go one year add a day. Ye are mine,” he breathed heavily. “Fer all time.”

“For as long as love shall last,” she whispered, closing her eyes against the hot tears that followed.

#MySexySaturday Sexy 'n Flawed

Welcome to the 34nd week of My Sexy Saturday.

This week we’re talking about those broken heroes and heroines who think they have nothing left to give to another person. They’ve stopped looking for their soul mates or don’t believe they even have one. They are truly surprised when someone falls for them. Romance writers have a knack for writing broken characters just as they have a knack for making them fall in love again. We all love those stories, both writer and reader alike. If your story has one of these characters in it, please share them with us…if not…share those sexy moments that you do have between your characters.

Post 7 paragraphs or 7 sentences or 7 words

Meet Gard Marschand from The Devil Take You—an evildoer of epic proportions; a severely flawed, cruel and malevolent character. Marauder, murderer, thief; a man hell bent on revenge. He has no time or need for love. Nor has he any redeeming qualities that a lass might look for. He is prepared to do anything, no matter how heinous to accomplish his goals. How could any woman fall in love with such a diabolically evil man?

Excerpt from The Devil Take You (Scottish Highlander historical romance)

“Braelynn.” She turned to face him. “Ye have ta see me as I am. No’ as ye
wish me ta be. Stop makin’ excuses for me. I am no’ one o’ the heroes from yor
poems.” For the first time in his life, he wished that he were. “I have killed wit’oot
excuse. All nationalities, includin' my own countrymen.”

Her gaze searched his. “Perhaps wha’ ye have done ta this point doesna matter.” Her voice was soft. “Wha’ ye do from this moment on should.”

He rubbed her cheek. “Why this moment on, Brae?” he whispered, his eyes
searching for what she could possibly see when she looked at him. “Wha’ be remarkable aboot this moment?”

Her eyes filled. “I dinna ken. But do ye na feel it too?” He did feel something.
“I dinna care wha’ ye have done in the past. I want to stay wit’ ya.” His breath
caught at this admission. She bit her lip waiting. Then finally she continued, “I
dinna wish for ya to send me ta Richmond. I dinna wish ta live somewhere under
pretext o’ widowhood, alone, unkennin’ o’ wha’ it was ta be wit’ ya. I wish ta stay
wit’ ye in wha’e’er capacity ye will have me.”

Pain bloomed in his chest. He closed his eyes and swallowed before he looked
at her again. “I have nuthin’ ta offer ye, Brae. I am a landless knight. A murderer, a thief. An abuser o’ women and children.”

“I dinna care if ye are an earl or a soldier. I have naught ta offer ye either. I
have done things I am na proud o’.”

He tried to smile. The drink making him relaxed. “Wha’ could ya have
possibly done, Caelian?” He tucked her hair behind her ear, watching and waiting for her big confession.

#MySexySaturday The Devil Himself Gard Marschand

Welcome to the 32nd week of My Sexy Saturday.

We’ve always loved the song Underneath It All by Gwen Stefani. To us, it has always been about the beauty on the inside of a person. Outsides are important but if the inside is rotten to the core, what does a pretty face matter? Share with the readers just why your unlikeable characters are likeable and redeemable.

You know the ones we’re talking about. The demon who loves a woman. The vampire who will do anything to save the human he loves. Or just the plain Jane next door who becomes the most desirable woman on the planet. Share just what is underneath the surface.

As soon as I read Lynn's prompt for this week's My Sexy Saturday, my first thoughts went to Gard Marschand. The anti-hero from my Scottish Highlander historical romance The Devil Take You. He's really not a nice guy, but I fell in love with him while writing his story and every reader that has reviewed this book or contacted me personally, fell in love with him too—badass or no, Gard is the man. That's what I wanted to create when I started this story. A man with seemingly no redeemable qualities. The classic anti-hero.

Excerpt: The Devil Take You:

"Come, I will teach you to use the dirk.”

“T'is fairly straight forward, is it no’?” she asked.

“Nay. It is not. An attacker will be stronger, faster, more savage than you. His
determination will be more than yours. You will have to be more cunning to make up for the lack of strength.” He moved toward her, pulling her up to stand. “Do you have it on you?”

“O’ course.”

“Remove it.”

“Ya told me na ta.”

“I would prefer neither of us run afoul of it. Remove it.”

She lifted her skirt and slid the dirk from the leather, placing it on the pallet.
“Remove the leather,” he instructed, his voice deepened at the sight of her long
shapely legs as she did so.

“You will wield to kill, Braelynn.” Her eyes widened at his words. “You cannot simply wound a man, you must aim for the kill. An injured man is like a
wounded animal. First he will be angry that you wounded him. Then he will seek his revenge and he will punish you and probably turn the weapon upon you, after he is done with you. You cannot give him the chance.”

Gard handed her a wooden rule from his desk to act as a dirk. “Now, if he
should come for you head on, most like his arms will come from above or mid-level. You must go underneath and aim upward.” He raised his muscular arms and came at her.

She did as instructed and ducked under him aiming the makeshift blade toward his ribs.

“Excellent. The ribs, the stomach are good places. The heart will be
instantaneous, the throat as well. Aim here.” When he placed his thumb to her
jugular, her gaze met his as he touched her lightly, belying his ferocious nature. He slowly scanned her face halting to focus on his own hand at her throat. He stroked his fingers lightly over her neck, sweeping over her breastbone before surprising her with an unprovoked attack. He had her flat on her back before she knew it, smothering her with his weight, out muscling her with his strength. Taking the wooden blade from her with ease, he flung it away from her.

“Now what will you do, Braelynn?” He continued to overpower her raising her
heavy skirt. She fought and kicked as she had in the lean-to. “Come, you must stop me. My will is stronger. I will get what I want and take it because you are not strong enough to fight me. My will to get inside you is stronger than your instinct for survival.” Deliberately, he tried to provoke her so that she might turn her anger into something useful. She made all the same mistakes again, ending in the exact same position with him—her skirt up around her waist and Gard with his granite-like hips thrust between her thighs.

“Will you let me do it to you again?”

She went completely still. “Ya willna hurt me.”

“Doona be too sure.” He spoke as a Scotsman to her. For some reason it
seemed to disarm her. He would use all the tricks to show her how deceptive an
opponent could be. “I told ya ta keep tha’ dagger on ya fer a reason. Yor first
mistake was lettin’ me so easily convince ya ta relinquish it. Do ya think I possess any more control o’er my cravings than Cowan does? I am goin’ ta take wha’ I want from ya, Braelynn. Stop me.”

“Yor word. Ya willna hurt me. I trust tha’.” Was she daft?

“Well, ya shouldna,” he roared, diving for her neck. Their impassioned mock-battle had him acutely aroused. Viciously, he seized her hips, his fingers biting into her enough to make her cry out. Surging against her, pulling at her bodice he exposed her and raked his teeth down her bared flesh.
