What was your favorite book as a child/teenager? πŸ“•

I was definitely a Tom Boy. “Where the Red Fern Grows”. A great story!

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

I could lie to sound different or admit the reality: E.L. James.

Have you always been a writer, even from your earliest recollection? Has being published always been one of your goals? And if not, what made you take that leap to submit your work to potential publishers?

I haven't always been a writer. I started doing it just in the last few years. I bumbled around through high school. Not much of a student. And then didn't make it through college. Junior college actually. I've always loved stories and I guess like a lot of writers, I love the escape of sitting there and creating this world from nothing.

My goal was try to create extra income for myself when I got into it. It's hard work. But I love the interaction with my readers. They keep me going.

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about?

I would say I rush my dialogue way too often. I really admire the writers who write excellent dialogue. The kind of interactions which also move the story and characters forward. It's something I am studying and working on.

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

Yes. For sure. I basically have a schedule where I write no matter what. Some days it's not good. Some days it is. But I just do it. Not long. Like an hour or a little less a day.

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

I loved Josie from “The President's Lover”. To me she is like a lot of younger women who start out with very little as far as means. That's how I tried to write her amid the extraordinary circumstances she was in.

What are you reading right now?

I am a huge Amanda Heartley Fan. Anything by her. She tells great stories and she writes great. Her scenes are HOT too.

When you read, do you prefer a stand-alone or a series?

Both are great. If they are holding my interest, I'll keep reading!

What would you like to be remembered for?

Great question. I need to give that some thought. I might find even better stories and writing if I give it some thought and find an answer.

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?) πŸ’˜

I do. And I thought I experienced it. Turned out to be a false alarm with time.

I think every girl maybe wants to believe in that. I don't ever forget the power of that concept when I write stories. It's exciting and not to be taken lightly. I know I believe in it strongly.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Why?

I have a Spain fetish. You'll see that alive in my novel series “Forbidden”.

I am happy anywhere but I bet I'd be really happy there.

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

I love the one where the consultant comes in and helps turn around struggling Bar/Restaurants. The ultimate would be to have a successful restaurant. Except I can't cook!

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

I actually did have short fling with a TA in college. The class was coming to an end but it still hadn't ended. Wish it would have helped my grade. But he was only a TA.

When it ended, I looked back and realized that was definitely pretty dangerous. I was pretty conservative from a conservative family growing up.

We still keep in touch. But not touch, touch.

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you’d most like to get naughty with. 🏈🎸

George Clooney. That's been the same for the last 10 years! I guess I like older men. Or at least fantasize about them.

If they were to make a movie about your life, what would the title be?

Many New Beginnings Every Day

What is your favorite way to promote or connect with fans? ✉πŸ“§

I prefer facebook messenger direct messaging or email. Whatever works for the individual fan. I am so grateful to them for their support.

Favorite movie? πŸ“Ί πŸ“Ή

Has to be Princess Bride!

Dream Vacation? 🌴

Anywhere with a beach, no people and a hunky lover. πŸ’ͺ

Dream Car? πŸš—

One that I can finally pay off! I am close. As long as it runs, I am happy.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor? 🍨

Neopolitan. (I have a hard time making up my mind, so it's the perfect flavor!)

Fave Authors? πŸ“

E.L. James. Amanda Heartley. Meghan March. Rebecca Lee....ha

Fave Books? πŸ“š

Anything Grey of course!

And last, what can readers look forward to next?

I have two things I am working on. One is the next book in one of my novella series. I am keeping it a surprise. And then a new full length novel. In that one, I am going to combine the elements of the things the readers really love in my books into the next one.

The other big area is I am trying to grow my Reader's Club. It's Free to join and you get 20 Free books from all my series. My goal is to have a place where all the HOT Romance books are discussed. Not just my work but all the best that's out there. Anything that tickles our most torrid fantasies! Here is

New Author Interview - Meet Noelle Keaton

Meet new author Noelle Keaton. Her debut m/m short story Trusting the ER Doctor will be released by Total E-Bound in March 2013 as part of the Emergency Servicing Medical Anthology

Here's Noelle...

If you’d told me this time last year that I would have an m/m author with a short story published in an anthology, I probably would have laughed and thought you were crazy. Yet, that is the reality, although it’s not one I’ve totally wrapped my head around yet.

Earlier this year, I received my new tablet and decided to try out the Kindle app by downloading free stories off the Amazon site. I had no idea the story I’d downloaded was a m/m story. There was a bare-chested handsome hunk on the cover and that was enough to sell me! But instead of the sassy heroine I’d been expecting, the hunk was involved with an equally hunky hero and the scenes were among the most erotic I’d ever read. From that moment, I read as many m/m books as I could download.

From there, I decided to try my own hand at writing one. I'd written romantic short stories in the past but never on with two men involved with each other. To my surprise, writing m/m was almost as fun as reading it. My first m/m short story Trusting The ER Doctor will be published by Total E-Bound in its Emergency Servicing Medical Anthology in March 2013. It's my first m/m story but hopefully it won't be my last. I'm having waaay too much fun to stop now!

Let's get to know Noelle a little better...

What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

As a child, I loved Beverly Cleary’s and Judy Blume’s books. I could not get enough of the antics of Ramona and Fudge!

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?)

As a romance writer, I truly believe in love at first sight even if it’s never happened to over-analytical and picky person like me.

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about? Mine is over using the word ‘harshly’.

I have a tendency to overuse dialog tags instead of just letting the characters dialogue do the heavy lifting.

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

I don’t think I’ve ever had writer’s block per se, but there are definitely periods where I’m more productive than others. I’m trying to become more disciplined about writing at the same time every day so that writing becomes more of a habit and maybe I can improve my productivity that way.

Do you base your characters on real-life people or situations?

My characters are wholly products of my imagination. I write erotica/erotic romance so my family and friends would kill me if they recognized themselves in my stories.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

I’m very happy living in Florida, but in the middle of a brutal summer like this one was, a place with cool breezes coming in off the beach sounds nice too.

If you could live in any era, which would it be?

I honestly like this era, with all the innovations in technology, I love waiting to see what’s going to happen next.

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

I like Kyle, the emergency room physician in Trusting the ER Doctor. He’s hunky, smart, and sensitive.

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

I’d love to do Chopped, the Food Network show. I’d like to see what kind of dish I’d be able to come up with given a basket of random ingredients. If I couldn’t do Chopped, I’d want to be on Project Runway, even if I don’t know how to use a sewing machine and can’t sew or drape. I really like doing any activity where you can express your creativity and your point of view.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I need to work on my patience, it really gets the best of me sometimes.

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you've ever done?

I went on Space Mountain at Disney World, which was crazy since I'm scared of roller coasters.

Favourite movie?

There are a lot of them, but The Godfather, MatchPoint, and Minority Report are at the top of the list.

Dream vacation?

A month in St. Bart's

Dream car? And Colour

Lexus IS, Onyx

Favourite ice cream?

Butter Pecan

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you'd most like to get naughty with.

Daniel Craig

Noelle has agreed to return to Pick a Genre Already closer to release date and give us a preview of what to look forward to from Trusting The ER Doctor but to hold us over here's a little tease...

Trusting The ER Doctor - by Noelle Keaton - Blurb:

After his last relationship resulted in a nasty break-up, the last thing emergency room physician Kyle Montgomery is looking for is another romance.  Yet when he meets hunky paramedic Trent Jones, Kyle cannot deny the immediate attraction and undeniable spark between them.  As their love develops, Kyle begins to put the past behind him and focus on his burgeoning relationship with Trent.

Trent, who has been drawn to Kyle ever since he first laid eyes on him, can hardly believe the handsome and sophisticated physician would give him a second glance, much less return his feelings.  Coming from a modest background, Trent wonders if he’s in the same league as Kyle and if their relationship can go the distance.  When Kyle’s former lover surfaces with allegations that cause Trent to question Kyle’s true feelings and motivations, it is up to both men to take stock and decide whether theirs is a love worth fighting for, worth trusting in.
