#MySexySaturday a Romantic Snip from Lost Time

This week for My Sexy Saturday I thought I'd share another extraction from my erotic time-travel romance novel Lost Time. So far, most of My Sexy Saturday posts have been down right sexy and steamy, in the throes of passion. But this week, I thought a little romance might be nice, Lock and Hannah style...

Excerpt:

He hovered near the door waiting for it to open. When it did, he took slow inventory of her blotchy cheeks. He smoothed his rough palm over her soft skin. “Please don’t be angry with me.”

“You made me feel the way that your family makes you feel. Things happened to me. Things I can’t explain. And whether you want to acknowledge it or not, what happened to me happened to you too, or we would not know the things that we know about each other.”

“I didn’t mean to make ya feel that way. I would just prefer not to discuss it in front of Malcolm. They don’t understand…”

“Neither do you. You deny it—this…what’s going on between us.”

“I may deny everythin’ else, that I can’t explain, but not that. We are the only thing that makes sense. To me, it feels right. It feels familiar. It feels like…everythin’,” he admitted.

Her eyes softened and she practically melted at his words, encouraging him to continue.

“This, whatever is happenin’, is what I’ve always been lookin’ for. I just never knew until now that I was missin’ it.” He brushed his lips over hers. “You make me crazed,” he whispered raggedly. “Everythin’ about ya. When I look at ya, when I catch your scent, when ya say my name, your smile. The things that I can see in your eyes that ya haven’t even admitted to yourself yet. Things I have not even discovered about ya, all these things call to me. I want to be a part of you.” He took her lips in another soul-searing kiss. “Let me be a part of you,” he said into her mouth. As much as she tried to blame it all on him, she was just as difficult to reach. In many ways, she was closed off to him. “Let me in,” he finished, and slid his tongue deep into her mouth. They might disagree about a great many things but in this one thing, they were in complete sync.

Blurb:

Within this frame, his curse is time…

Hannah Keys thinks she’s setting off on the trip of her dreams, but after one mishap after another—beginning with her best friend abandoning her in the airport and ending with the man of her dreams dead—she’s renaming it the vacation from hell.

When Hannah discovers a four-hundred-year-old portrait in Wales, she is intrigued and somewhat saddened by the handsome Highlander portrayed by the artist’s masterful, lifelike strokes. But when she runs into the majorly hunky model for the painting—in the flesh, in the middle of the night—she learns first-hand all about masterful strokes when she shares a night of medieval passion with him.

Lockhart Munro has been cursed inside the portrait until he meets Hannah Keys. For four hundred years, no one has heard him or seen him, let alone touched him. The one woman who can do all these things may be the key to his long-awaited freedom.

But if Hannah sets Lockhart free from his prison, will she be cursed to spend the rest of her lifetime without him?

Or perhaps freeing Lockhart will be just the beginning…

#MySexySaturday Another Snip from Swap

Around here, the song of the summer has to be Dallas Smith's Nothing But Summer.

It doesn't hurt that Dallas is a fellow Canadian and I was a fan of his back when he was lead singer of  Default

But there's a line in the song

Couple in the water, making waves, you and me sleeping off in the shade...

and every time I hear him sing it, it brings back the imagery that was in my head while writing this scene between Hailey and Mike from my first erotic romance, Swap

Excerpt:

God, I was dying, drowning, swimming in sensation. Just having him close to me, touching me, desiring me, kissing me… It made me crazy. I was so very close to coming. I trembled, in spite of my overheated skin. I wanted to dive over the edge and take him with me. “Touch me,” I pleaded.

He cupped my backside with both hands, pulling me fully against his impressive hard-on and sending another tingling shiver of electricity through my body. “We need to cool off.”

No, I complained in my own head. Mike took my hand and we walked to the water. I didn’t want to cool off—I wanted to fuck him. Why wouldn’t he just let go and give us both what we wanted?

We held hands as we waded out. “Oh, it’s chilly,” I uttered.

He let go of my hand and wrapped his arm around my waist. I did the same to him as we strode deeper. He started to drift off to the left, where a huge willow hung over the water, its sweeping branches creating shade and—dared I hope?—privacy. As soon as we were under its cover, he pulled me to him and devoured my mouth. I revelled in his kiss, taking his mouth over the way I did in my fantasies. I didn’t hold back. Our hands were everywhere, touching, exploring. I slid my hand down over his throbbing cock, letting my fingers mould and shape him. I could feel the contained excitement rushing through it, almost boiling under the thin skin, just waiting to burst free. I wanted to do that for him. It excited me to know that I was causing him this forbidden pleasure. He moaned and elbowed my hand away, signalling he couldn’t take much more of that, then trailed his mouth down my chin, his teeth grazing my neck, making my skin sizzle with sultry heat. He kissed the swell of my breast just before scraping his teeth across my nipple through my top. I cried out when I felt the warmth of his tongue lap over me, sending a lightning bolt of need straight to my engorged cunt.

With the help of the buoyancy of the water, I floated my legs up, wrapping them greedily around Mike, holding his hardness to my softness. He circled my ass with his hands, gripping tightly. I rubbed my greedy crotch shamelessly over him as he continued to lave my nipple. I was practically riding him. I wanted him to release his hot cock from those shorts and shove aside my bikini bottoms and come inside me, ending this exquisite torture for both of us.

I was so turned on that even the coolness of the water could not dilute my need. I could feel the telltale fluttering begin deep inside me. I sobbed deep in my throat, as my body took over the rhythmic abrasion that would end the burning torture for me. I pulled his head free from my breast and I fed on his mouth as I came, trying to eke out every last shudder of ecstasy coursing through me. Did he know what he did to me?

Hailey Hollinger has it all—a great husband, a fantastic career in journalism, good friends...and one hot brother-in-law that won’t stay out of her fantasies.

When Hailey Hollinger was eighteen she thought her boyfriend, Brent, was the best-looking guy around. That was until he introduced her to his older brother, Mike. From that moment on she had the biggest crush on him and he became the star of all her teenage fantasies.

Hailey’s all grown up now and has been married to Brent for three years. They have great careers, a nice house—they enjoy life and each other. Everything is supposed to be perfect. Except for that pesky little infatuation with her husband’s brother has never completely gone away.

A crush, by nature and definition, is supposed to be short-lived and should diminish over time. But, unfortunately for Hailey, it hasn’t, and it is beginning to mess with what she thinks should be perfection. And if her life is so great, why does she then find herself groping her brother-in-law in the cab of his truck like some sex—starved teenager? And the biggest question yet—why is he groping her right back?

#MySexySaturday A Snip from a Recent Sub

This week My Sexy Saturday belongs to Jase and Lainey from a recent submission (fingers crossed for an acceptance). I think I'll even keep the working title to myself for now. But I hope you enjoy this little tease.

(unedited)

“Get in the backroom. Now!” he said, in a low authoritative voice. She hesitated but when he turned the Open sign to Closed and he locked the door, she started to back into the little room. In large strides he followed, stalking her, loosening his tie as he came at her.

She was almost to the wall of the backroom when his large body shadowed the door-frame.

Lainey watched him warily. He seemed almost angry. Intense.

“Any cameras back here?”

She shook her head.

Locking the back door he then moved like a caged cat to where she stood.

Without a word; he started dragging her skirt up. His jaw was tight, like he had his teeth clamped tightly together. His lips were drawn in a hard line. Once he had her skirt up around her waist he tucked his index fingers under the soft elastic in her panties and as he started to kneel down in front of her, he dragged the garment to her ankles on his descent.

Please Welcome Author L M Somerton

Please Welcome fellow Total-E-Bound author L M Somerton...

What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

As a child, The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton – probably my first foray into fantasy! As a teenager – anything and everything but I did love The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R Donaldson.

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

The Blue Ruin series by Katrina Strauss was my intro to MM BDSM and I still love the series. I also enjoyed anything by Sean Michael and Kim Dare (and I still look out for anything new from them).

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?)

I do – what a lovely fantasy – but it’s never happened to me sadly, I’m more of a slow burn girl!

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about?

My editor kindly introduced me to zombies (actions not attributed to a person) and Independent Body Parts. I’m still guilty of both, but getting better!

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

Not a complete block, but a bad review puts me off writing for a while. Web trolls were a new phenomenon to me when I was first published. Now I just ignore them.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Wasdale in the English Lake District or maybe the North Cornwall coast. Can I have cottages in both places please?

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

Olly who features in all the Tales from the Edge. He’s full of life and mischief, I’m sure he’d be fun to be around.

What are you reading right now?

Spellwright by Blake Charlton.

When you read, do you prefer a stand-alone or a series?

I have both on my bookshelf, but I think I enjoy a good series more.

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

Strictly Come Dancing – love the sparkly dresses and the fit male dancers!

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

I’ve white water rafted the Zambezi – definitely the scariest thing I’ve ever done.

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you’d most like to get naughty with.

Just one? That’s too difficult…. Okay, Tyler Hoechlin who plays Derek in Teen Wolf. Scrummy.

What is your favourite way to promote or connect with fans?

I’ve not long joined Facebook and I’m finding it addictive, but I love the way readers comment on my Blog.

Favourite movie?

The Sting

Dream Vacation?

Costa Rica

Dream Car?

Aston Martin DB9

Favourite Ice Cream Flavour?

Vanilla (yes, really!)

What can readers look forward to next?

The next book in the Tales from The Edge series will be out in September, it’s called Dancing on the Edge.

Please tell us about your newest release.

Living on the Edge is number 2 in the series. The central characters are Heath (who was introduced in Reaching the Edge) and Aiden. There are plenty of steamy BDSM scenes, and plenty of adventure to. Don’t want to give too much away! It’s on general release from August 16th.

Title: Living on the Edge
Genre: MM BDSM
Publisher: TEB
Release Date: 16th August

Blurb:

Book Two in the Tales from The Edge series.

Sometimes it takes willpower to resist temptation but courage to give in.

Aiden Keller is a brilliant and intriguing young man. When he’s convicted of hacking, his sentence takes him to The Edge, a high-end corporate training company with a mysterious sideline. There he is given into the custody of its owner, the enigmatic and demanding Heath Anders, and his business partner Joe Dexter.

From the moment Heath takes charge of Aiden he recognises the boy’s submissive nature, even though it is well hidden beneath a veneer of snarky attitude. But for twelve months, Aiden will be his responsibility and Heath cannot allow himself to get involved whilst the boy is obliged to obey him.

Aiden settles into his new life with the help of Olly, Joe’s pretty, submissive boyfriend, who is very perceptive when it comes to noticing the sparks of attraction flying between Aiden and Heath. Slowly and gently, he teaches
Aiden that submission is not a weakness and to accept his desire to be dominated.

Unable to resist, Heath starts to test Aiden’s willingness to be obedient, and against all the odds, love (and lust) start to bloom. Aiden, however, is not quite what he seems and his past is about to endanger all their lives.

Excerpt:

Aiden watched as he walked away. Broad shoulders topped a body wrapped in a dark fleece and black jeans. Every movement spoke of restrained strength. He moved confidently with a measured, unhurried pace. Aiden couldn’t stop his gaze from drifting down to a very nice arse—the guy was exceptionally well put together. It wasn’t difficult to imagine what it would be like to be held down by Heath, and somehow Aiden knew that held down was what he would be. Heath didn’t look the type for caring and sharing. He was so obviously dominant that it oozed from every pore.

“Probably straight.” Aiden hoped he had only thought the words rather than said them out loud. It was hardly appropriate to be thinking about the man in that way. Still, if he had to be stuck in some godforsaken place as slave labour for twelve months, at least there would be something nice to look at. Twelve months. Fuck. It felt like a life sentence, and Aiden wondered for the millionth time if what he had done was worth it.

Heath returned, levered his long legs beneath the table and placed a large cup of steaming coffee in front of him. Aiden’s hands shook just a little as he ripped open a sugar sachet and sprinkled a few grains into his drink. The fight with the miniature milk cartons proved a bit more challenging until a large hand closed around his own, took the annoying little pot away and opened it for him. The burning sensation would have been less if Aiden had plunged his hand into an open fire. Skin on skin contact with Heath short-circuited his brain and turned his cock into a very hard problem.

He shifted uncomfortably. “I don’t need your help.” He fought the second milk carton and sprayed white liquid across the table.

“Of course you don’t.” Heath wiped up the mess with a serviette. “Look at me, Aiden.”

Aiden suddenly found the tabletop very interesting indeed, but there was something about that voice that stripped away his resistance. Slowly, unwillingly, he raised his eyes.

“Better. I have one ground rule that we need to get out of the way. I know you don’t want to be here. Well, suck it up—I don’t care. You did something wrong and this is punishment, not a fucking day trip.”

Aiden blinked and clenched his fists beneath the table.

“From this point on, you do what I say, when I say it. Disobey me and you will be punished. Do as you’re told and we will get along just fine.”

“So, you say ‘Jump’ and I say ‘How high’? Is that how this works?” Months of frustration and worry brought sharpness to Aiden’s voice.

“How high, how far and what kind of fucking landing is required.”

Author bio:

L M Somerton lives in a small village in the English countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, cows and sheep. She started writing to fill time between jobs and is now firmly and unashamedly addicted.

She loves the English weather, especially the rain, and adores a thunderstorm. She loves good food, warm company and a crackling fire. She’s fascinated by the psychology of relationships, especially between men, and her stories contain some subtle (and not so subtle) leanings towards BDSM.

Please Welcome Author Mary Waibel

Please welcome my friend and fellow MuseItUp author,
Mary Waibel...

What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

A Wrinkle in Time bu Madeline L'Engle

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

Probably the above, although I'd have to say Nora Roberts and Lisa Shearin's writing have also influenced me.

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?)

LOL! I guess you could say yes. My husband and I met on a blind date, so while it may not have been love at first site, clearly something was there!

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about?

Yes. And as soon as I fix it, I pick a new one. THAT was the first one, then it became JUST. In my current WIP, my CP has pointed out that things are constantly “DANCING” on my MC. [Sigh.] One of these days I won't overuse words...NOT!

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

Sadly, yes, and usually it's my own fault. For me, writer's block comes when I've made a character behave in a manner they would not. And until I find where I've gone wrong, they pout and throw temper tantrums, and my writing grinds to a standstill.

Showers, changing laundry, and driving seem to be the times I get the “Ah-hah!” breakthrough moment. Usually I just let the problem simmer in the back of my mind for a bit, then when I think about the scene as I'm doing one of those tasks, everything falls into place and I can move on.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

In all honesty, I love where I am, but if I had to pick, I'd say the Acadia area of Maine, or the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. (Maine would be my first choice, as I do prefer a cooler climate!)

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

It would probably be Brody (or more properly, Prince Broderick). Of all that I've written, he's my favorite. He's funny, loyal, and has a heartbreaking story.

What are you reading right now?

I just finished TALL DARK AND KILTED by Lizzie Lamb. I'm going to start CITY OF ASHES (book 2 of The Mortal Instruments) by Cassandra Clare soon, and I need to read ENDER'S GAME, by Orson Scott Card before the end of this month for a BOTM read. (My taste in  books, like my taste in music, is wide and varied!)

When you read, do you prefer a stand-alone or a series?

I like both. I'm a sucker for a trilogy, and oddly enough, I usually like the second book the best. (I also have a habit of getting series out of order from the library, usually getting the second book first, so this might account for that anomaly.)

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

Hmm. Not really big on reality shows, but I can sing and play instruments, so maybe 'America's Got Talent'.

What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

Well, on our honeymoon, we climbed Dunn's River Falls- a waterfall in Jamaica.

In college, I went up for a nighttime flight over Lake Erie, in a small prop plane. I got to hold the yoke and fly the plane for a minute.

I also got to have x-rays of my head taken while on our honeymoon. No, I didn't fall down the waterfall. Sadly, I fell in the shower and hit my head- they had to make sure I hadn't fractured my skull, as the bone behind my ear seemed depressed further than it should be. Note to self-shower tiles are slippery when wet!

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you’d most like to get naughty with.

Oh! When I was a teen, I really liked Jim McMahon, from the Chicago Bears (probably because he was such a bad-boy!) My teenage self sould have picked him.

As an adult, I'm not sure who I'd pick, as  I enjoy 'getting naughty' with  my husband.

What is your favourite way to promote or connect with fans?

Twitter. I've been learning to connect with other authors and readers on twitter. It's a great way to chat with people and connect.

Favourite movie?

Robin Hood; The Three Musketeers; The Scarlet Pimpernel (the 1934 one with Leslie Howard)

Dream Vacation?

A trip to Bavaria. I really want to see Castle Neuschwanstein. Of course, a side trip to Ireland or Scotland would be nice, too.

Dream Car?

Porsche 911 Carrera, red with a whale tail.

Favourite Ice Cream Flavour?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
What can readers look forward to next?

I'm hoping for at least 2 more books in the Princess of Valendria series (the 3rd one has been submitted- just waiting to hear back!) and then maybe some side adventures in that realm

I'm editing the first book in a paranormal romance with faeries and sorcerers, and just started the first book in a trilogy base on a D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) type world and quest. I'm also playing with some adult romance novels.  (As you can see, my muse doesn't like to sleep!)

Please tell us about your newest release.

Charmed Memories is the second book in the Princess of Valendria series. It follows Princess Kaylee's brother, Trevor, as he searches for his missing princess. He discovers Bri, the Woodland Guide and girl he loves, might be his missing princess, but she has no memories of her past. They set out to recover her memories, putting them both in grave danger, as Bri's lost memories hide more than her identity.

Charmed Memories:

A prince vows to prove the girl he loves is his missing princess by recovering her lost memories.

Prince Trevor has always placed duty to his kingdom above the desires of his own heart. But when his betrothed is lost at sea, he finds himself torn between honor and love.

After four years of searching for the missing princess, he begins to secretly long for Lady Bri, the Woodland Guide he works with each day. But the law says he must marry a princess, and Bri is barely a noble.

When Trevor learns that Bri shipwrecked at the same time and place as the princess, he begins to believe he has finally found his bride-to-be. But his happiness is short lived. Bri has no memory of her past, and the princess wasn't the only girl who disappeared from the ship.

Desperate to prove Bri is his princess, Trevor unwittingly places the two of them in grave danger. Buried in Bri's memories are deadly secrets someone wants kept from the light of day, and learning who she is may cost more than either is willing to pay.

Excerpt:
“I can't believe my luck.” He brushed a finger over her cheek, barely touching her, yet her skin burned at the contact. “All this time searching for you, and you were right by my side.”

He set his palm on her cheek and leaned in, brushing his lips over hers.

She gasped and jerked away.

 “What are you doing?”

“I thought that was obvious.” He moved closer, his mouth grazing her cheek. “Here, let's try again.”

She knew she should turn away, but she had longed for this moment for so long. Her eyes drifted closed as his lips touched hers, soft as a butterfly on a flower. He slid his hands into her hair, tipping her head, deepening his kiss. She trembled at his touch. Frightened by these unfamiliar feelings, she pulled away, her breath coming in ragged gasps.

“This is wrong.”

“No.” He reached for her, but she stepped away, the incoming waves swirling around her ankles. “I've waited two years for this moment. There's nothing wrong with it.”

“Two years to kiss me or Elsbeth?”

“Both.”

She moved past him, sloshing through the water. When she felt she was a safe distance away, she turned back, hands on her hips. “I'm a shipwreck victim with no memory of my past.”

“You're Elsbeth. I know it. I can feel it.”

She threw her arms in the air. “You don't know that. How could you?”

“Bri—”

“No. You need to listen. For two years you've stolen bits of my heart. I never told you of my feelings, knowing we had no future together. But now you think I might be your princess and that makes it right for you to kiss me? How dare you insult me that way?”

“But, Bri, if you are Elsbeth, we have a future together.”

“That's one mighty big if, Your Highness.”

“I'm willing to stake my crown on it.”

“But what will you do if I'm not her? Do you choose another or choose me?”

“I'm bound by contract—”

“Which we both know became void when your princess disappeared. I'm not ignorant, Your Highness. I know how contracts work.” She waved a hand in the air. “We don't know who I am. The only one who does is a mermaid, and she can't speak to us."

“No, she isn't the only one. Your family will know you.”

The pounding of her heart was the only sound she could hear over the roaring surf. “You mean to take me to Delphine.”

“Of course. You need to go home. To see your family. To remember.” He moved closer with each word.

Bri's entire body trembled at the thought of crossing the sea. “No.” She shook her head so hard her vision blurred. “I can't do that. The mermaid said not to look for my family. It isn't safe.”

He pulled her close. “Surely the danger has passed after all these years. And I promise to keep you safe.”

She hesitated, then leaned her head on his shoulder, absorbing his strength. “If you have any feelings for me at all, you'll find another way.”

“Have feelings for you?” He tipped her head up until her gaze met his, then feathered his fingertips over her cheeks. “Of course I have feelings for you, which is why we have to go to Delphine.”

Turning away, she stared out at the waves, wishing there was another option. If only they didn't have to cross the sea, but she knew there was no other way. She had always wanted to learn who she was. Her family had only told her they found her on the beach, the lone survivor of a shipwreck. With no memories of her past, she had turned to building her future, but not a day went by that she didn't wonder where she came from and who she had been. Should she cast this chance aside, just because she was afraid to sail?

“Fine. I will do whatever I need to learn who I am. Now, we need to settle whatever this is between us.”

“What do you mean?”

“There is no us.” Tears trickled down her cheek. “There can't be. Not until we know who I am.”

“You're Elsbeth.”

“Stop! You keep saying that because that's who you want me to be. Yet earlier today, you turned away from kissing me.”

“Because it wasn't fair for me to kiss you, knowing nothing could come of it.”

She gaped at him, stunned at his words. “Not fair? You think it fair to have kept your feelings from me?”

“You're one to talk, Bri. You were going to run away because of your feelings for me.”

She laughed, mirthlessly. “Because I didn't think you felt anything more than friendship for me. I couldn't say anything to you. You're the crown prince. I'm barely a noble. What would you have had me say?”

He shoved a hand through his hair. “I don't know. I never said anything as it seemed wrong to do so. How could I tell you I loved you then marry another?”
She shook her head. “If you had asked me, I would have given you my love, knowing we had no future together. I find it very telling you chose not to act on your feelings until you wouldn't have to give up anything for me. I wonder, did you not think me worth the cost?”

A reverse Sleeping Beauty tale where the princess goes on the quest to save the prince.

Princess Kaylee has never had to fight for anything. Her entire life has been arranged, even her marriage. But when Prince Devlin falls under an enchantment, she finds she is willing to do anything to save him, even if it means fighting a dragon.

Devlin's own sister, Princess Arabella, is behind the deadly plot. She wants the throne and will use any means necessary to gain it. Her perfect plan unravels, leaving Devlin caught in a magical sleep that is slowly spreading through the kingdom of Breniera. All Arabella needs to finish her spell and claim the crown is a drop of Kaylee's blood, but obtaining the single drop is proving more difficult than expected.

To save her betrothed, Kaylee embarks on a quest to find an ancient sword and gather a drop of dragon's blood, while trying to stay out of Arabella's traps. But Arabella's traps aren't the only danger. Time is everything. For once the last inhabitant of the kingdom falls asleep, the spell will be sealed, and not even true love's kiss will break it.
