Is it truly better to have loved and lost? #NewRelease Athis Dey by @_JenWright #mmromance #vampires

I'm so excited to welcome back fellow Totally Bound author Jennifer Wright with her latest release, the fourth installment to the Finding Home Series, Athis Dey

How would you describe the Finding Home Series and the world of Pavarus and it’s inhabitants, to someone who hasn’t read any of the books?

The Finding Home Series is about the warriors of a vampire coven finding their mates. It takes place in the world Pavarus – which is an alternate realm of Earth – where vampires, dragons, magic folk, and humans all live. There is an ongoing war going on between the vampires and dragons, so the constant danger plays a big part of each of their lives and stories.

What was the biggest learning experience throughout the writing of this series? Were there any surprises? Even with the best laid plan and outline, I know sometimes the characters dictate the way things will go sometimes. Have you had a character who was insistent enough to make you toss aside your original idea?

Let me start with I am one person that hates doing research for my stories, so with that the biggest learning experience was that making up a whole new world to avoid having to do research is definitely not easier. It is much hard (at least for me) to come up with everything. But, at the same time, I’m glad I did because as hard as it was, it was a lot of fun creating the world of Pavarus.

The series was all planned out, but one character did make stand. Originally, there was no story between Keddrick and Eli. But after writing bits of Eli at the end of the first book, he wriggled his way into my mind and demanded his a Keddrick’s story. Therefore, Movea: book 2 was born.

Have things changed for you when you’re plotting out a story now, from when you began  outlining the first book Pavarus or even Morvea?

No, not really. My mind seems pretty stuck on doing everything the same way – which is a total mess. I wish I was more organized, but that ain’t gonna happen. It’s all a boggled mess that takes time to decipher, but is worth the headache in the long run when I write those word ‘the end’.

The Finding Home Series has acquired such a following, did that make you feel like there was extra pressure in the telling of Larken’s story.

Holy cow, yes! So many people were wanting Larken and Zane together – and I hate disappointing people. Larken finds his love in Athis Dey: FH Series book 4, so hopefully this will clench their thirst for Larken’s HEA.

I know you put a lot of thought into choosing unique names for not only your character’s but also the titles of your books. Where did Athis Dey come from?

Athis Dey needed to be something mysterious but striking. Athis Dey is the name of the Pavarus’ most beautiful yet deadly flower. It plays a huge part Khale’s life – his past and present. It almost takes his life, but that’s all I’ll say because I don’t want to give away too much. ;)

I know this is like asking people if they have a favorite child, but do you have a favorite book in the series? Or are they all special for different reasons?

As much as I cherish Zane and his story, I will say overall they all hold the same amount of space in my heart.

What’s can fans look forward to next?

Damien and Nikolai’s story. It’s going to be a huge struggle getting these two together – lots of road blocks thrown in their paths that threaten to keep them apart – but love conquers all, right? ;)

Book blurb:

Is it truly better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all?

In Larken’s case, he isn’t so sure. He did love someone, then he lost them, and it hurt like hell. Now, Larken has to figure out how he’s going to get over it and find love once more. Then again, does he even want to care for someone so strongly for a second time? He’s had his heart broken once, and he fears it’s too soon to open up to someone else. But how can he really deny the new feelings that are growing inside him?

Khale, on the other hand, has yet to fall in love at all. It’s something he’s wanted his whole life, and now he finds that it may be within his grasp. Khale could love Larken with all his heart—he can see himself with the warrior for the rest of his life. But Khale also yearns for Vardel to finally accept him as his son, and this wanting misguides him, leading him into trouble. Now he needs Larken’s help—he needs the man he’s fallen in love with to save him, but he fears his secrets and possible betrayal will have ruined his chance of ever finding happiness.

Excerpt:

Khale grunted as Ballen stumbled through the castle doors. He was grateful that the vampire had helped him back to the coven, but having his arm over Ballen’s shoulders was pulling terribly at his back. Unable to take the pain the awkward position caused, Khale pulled away from Ballen’s hold.

“Thanks, Ballen, but I think I can take it from here.”

“Are you sure? That was a hard fall you took. If it weren’t for the tree branches slowing you down as you fell, I imagine you would’ve broken quite a few bones.”

Khale was pretty sure he would have too, and that wouldn’t have been good. Taking days to heal from one broken rib was one thing. Having to heal from several… Well, that’d just be awful.

Placing a gentle hand on Khale’s shoulder, Ballen said, “Come on. Let’s get you to your room.”

As pleasurable as taking a moment to lie down sounded, he knew there wasn’t time. Shaking his head, Khale said, “No, we need to get to the war room. We need to tell the others about what happened. The Dráguns might still be nearby, or there could be others. The sooner we tell Remus, the better.”

“Don’t worry about it. I’ll tell them—right after I get you to your room.”

He wanted to be there to learn of what Remus planned to do, but Khale figured he’d have someone fill him in on it later. Ballen was right. He needed to get to his room.

On the second floor, though, Khale managed to talk Ballen into leaving him and going to the war room, assuring the vampire that he’d make it the rest of the way to his room just fine—and he did, but it was a slow and painful journey. His whole body ached from the impact of hitting the ground. Various areas of his face stung from the bite of the thinner branches, and some of the cuts were still bleeding.

Heading to his wardrobe, Khale removed his waistcoat and let it fall to the floor—his vest was next and his shirt soon followed after. Opening the wardrobe, he looked into the mirror hanging inside it, observing the thin slashes along his skin and the gouge at the edge of his hairline on his forehead. It didn’t look too bad, but though the gouge wasn’t bleeding too severely, he knew it’d probably take the rest of the night before it healed completely. Turning around, he looked over his shoulder and inspected his back. Bruises were starting to form but, like Ballen had said, thankfully nothing was broken.

Khale jumped and nearly fell into the wardrobe when his bedroom door crashed open.

“Are you all right?”

Before Khale could answer Larken’s question, the vampire was already near him, reaching out to Khale. His first instinct was to back away, to avoid the man’s touch, but this time he didn’t. He was hurting and craved comfort from another—from Larken.

Khale let out a heavy sigh as Larken framed his face with his hands, his fingertips threading into his hair. He turned his face into the touch, then hissed as a callous on Larken’s hand rubbed hard against one of the cuts.

“I’m sorry,” Larken said, then he started to pull away.

Quickly reaching up, Khale placed his hands over Larken’s, keeping them there. He didn’t want to lose the relief he felt from the vampire’s touch. “Don’t. I don’t…” His words failed him as he stared up into Larken’s eyes.

Larken smiled, but Khale could still see the concern etched around the corners of his mouth, making Khale want to kiss the worry lines away.

“Dear gods, when Ballen told us what happened…” Larken’s brow pulled down, confliction shining in his eyes. “I know you said no before, but… I’m sorry, I…”

Larken’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as the man swallowed, then Khale stood in shock as Larken leaned down and kissed him. Again, his instinct was to pull away, but he couldn’t.

He didn’t want to.

Moaning, Khale slanted his head as Larken’s tongue pushed past his lips and into his mouth, deepening the kiss. The man tasted incredible. He tasted of heat and passion and everything Khale desired. Their tongues fought for dominance, their lips mashing together, seeming to never get enough. Larken fed him groans of lust, spiking Khale’s hunger. The vampire’s hands traveled along Khale’s sides then settled on his ass, squeezing tight and pulling Khale nearer, pressing their hardening cocks together. Of their own accord, Khale’s arms came up and wrapped around Larken’s neck.

When Larken wound his arms around him, embracing him tightly, Khale gasped and stiffened within his hold.

Jumping back, Larken quickly said, “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Did I hurt you?”

Cringing, Khale looked over his shoulder again and assessed the bruises. When he heard the sharp intake of breath, he looked in the mirror to see Larken staring at the reflection of his back.

“Oh, Khale, what’s going on?” He moved closer, and this time Khale did back away. “How is it that you have bruises like that?” Larken continued. He looked at Khale’s face. “Why aren’t you healing? Have you not fed recently? Do you need blood?”

What was he supposed to say to that when he didn’t know the answer himself? He’d just fed this evening before he’d joined the others for breakfast, but feeding had never played much part in his healing process. He had a feeling that his inability to heal as quickly as other vampires would never be solved.

Shaking his head, Khale replied, “No, I don’t need to feed.”

“Are you sure?” Larken reached out for him. “I could—”

Khale backed away more quickly this time. The pain from his back had cleared his head, making him realize that he shouldn’t have let Larken touch him before. That he should have ended the kiss immediately. He had his reasons, but he wasn’t sure Larken would understand them. “I said no,” he said, a little more harshly than he had meant to.

A flash of hurt crossed Larken’s features, but his expression quickly turned stoic. His hands dropped to his sides and his lips tightened into a thin line. “All right. I’m sorry to have bothered you.” He turned and headed toward the door.

Khale opened his mouth to tell him to stop, to apologize for his tone, but he instead closed it without saying a word and watched Larken exit his room.

Hey everyone, I'm Jen and I'm an author of M/M erotic romance. I love M/M romance, both reading and writing it—seriously, what's better than a sexy man... Two sexy men! You can't go wrong there. Though I do dabble in a little bit of M/F romance, my main passion will always be smutting it up with men, men and more men. I try to dedicate as much of my free time to writing as I can—ha! What free time?—but if I’m not typing away on my laptop, you’ll find me with my nose buried in a book, or with my loving fiancé debating on what movie to watch and the never-ending back and forth decision of what to have for dinner. I love spending time with my family and fiancé, cuddling with my dog and two cats, and laughing as much as possible—’cause I like to think I'm funny!

Some little tidbits about me are—I love animals of all sorts, I have a really big sweet-tooth, and I've been told I like to talk with my hands (insert hand gestures here).

Pavarus, Morvea, Airos, Athis Dey - The Finding Home Series by Jennifer Wright @_JenWright @Totally_Bound

Please welcome back my friend and fellow Totally Bound author
Jennifer Wright and The Finding Home Series
Pavarus, Morvea, Airos,
plus an Athis Dey update and sneak peek...

Thanks, H K, for letting me pimp my books on your blog today! :D

Just a quick update – my inspiration seems to finally be coming back, and I’m pleased to say that I’m roughly 75% finished with the 4th book in my Finding Home Series, Athis Dey, and that I’ve even started writing the last book as well. I’ve got tons of ideas and storylines creating chaos in my head and I’m trying my hardest to get it all down before I go crazy, lol! It’s nice to finally be writing again, and I hope to have Athis Dey finished soon. :)

On a quick note, I’ve been getting a lot of “What about Larken!”, so I’d like to share that in the 4th book Larken finally gets his HEA. So hold on to your undies ladies and gents, I’m writing as fast as I can.

Here’s a little (unedited) taste of Larken and Khale’s story to whet your appetites and hopefully having you want more. ;)

Excerpt (From Khale’s POV):

Larken’s tongue slipped into his mouth and Khale shivered with desire. With a firm hold on his face, the warrior walked backwards toward his bedroom, the both of them ravishing each other’s mouths as they stumbled along. Once there, Khale finally allowed himself to touch him. Larken’s muscles tensed beneath his hands, the hard feel exciting Khale even more. He could picture this massive man above him, taking him in every way.

He wanted it.

As if sensing his thoughts, Larken broke the kiss and stared down at him. “Get undressed,” he growled out.

Shaking with need, Khale removed his clothing, his gaze never leaving Larken as the warrior stripped as well. The man was stunning. Every inch of him was perfectly sculpted. He was built and hard and made for Khale’s touch.

Khale reached out, wanting to run his fingers along the rippled abdomen, but instead gasped when Larken pushed him down onto the bed. No one had ever dared do such a thing to him. No one would ever think of pushing him around. With his mouth open, ready to protest at what Larken had done, his words failed him as Larken covered his body with his own, the warmth of his skin seeping into Khale, making his erection grow harder than he thought possible.

Larken glared at him as he took hold of Khale’s wrists and held them above his head. “Don’t move.”

Khale wanted to protest again, yet found himself nodding in compliance. The feel of Larken’s lips trail along his throat made him tremble even more. When the warrior nipped at the crook of his neck, Khale couldn’t stop the moan that escaped his lips. Arching his hips up, he rubbed his hard length along the curve of Larken’s hip, moaning again at the sweet pressure it provided.

To his dismay, Larken lifted himself up and hovered above him. “I said don’t move.”

His chest heaving with every breath he took, Khale quickly nodded his head again.

Larken smiled at him—that cocky grin that Khale was quickly starting to hate—but his irritation faded as Larken took hold of his cock. Crying out, Khale’s hips bucked up, wanting so bad for that hand to stroke him.

A sparkle shone in Larken’s eyes and the man tightened his grip.
Khale’s trembles with need were clearly showing now. The tease that the warrior was torturing him with was cruel, but he had a feeling he knew what Larken was waiting for, and there was no way he was going to say it.

Larken squeezed his dick again.

“Please,” he begged. Khale immediately cursed himself. How could he let the word slip from his mouth so easily?

Lust replaced the gleam in the warrior’s eyes and he slowly moved his hand up and then down once. Khale groaned and bucked his hips again, needing for him to move faster, but Larken just stopped completely.

Oh, to hell with this no moving shit. It’d been too long from him to lie around and play games. No longer wanting to be the yielding bottom, Khale wrapped his hand around Larken’s and forced the man to stroke his cock. “Oh gods!”

Suddenly, Larken’s body was on him again, their mouths locked firmly together. Khale ignored the wanton noises he was feeding the other man, and instead relished in the moment. It’d been so long, and he was now so close.

Within the blink of an eye, his hands were once again above his head. Still not wanting to yield, he wrapped his legs around Larken’s waist and arched his hips, grinding himself against the curve of the man’s hip again.

Larken growled into his mouth. Releasing his hold of his wrists, Larken wound an arm around him, his other holding himself up, and pulled Khale farther up onto the bed so Khale could rest his head on the pillows.

Khale threaded his fingers through Larken's hair as he plundered his mouth, and the warrior began to grind his own erection against him. Khale reveled in the feel of it.

He gasped again, this time when he was met with the cold air in the room. His surprise was quickly subsided when Larken flipped him over onto his stomach almost effortlessly. He was a little taken back by the power Larken used on him. It wasn’t like he was a small man by any means. Sure, Larken was a little more built than him, but he felt almost feeble as the man seemed to toss him around like it was nothing.

Larken’s hard body covered his, and once again Khale found himself at a loss for words. The warrior forced his legs apart as he settle between them, his hard length firmly pressed against Khale’s ass.

“I’m tired of waiting,” Larken growled into his ear.

Unable to speak, Khale just nodded. Larken grabbed Khale’s hands and held them above his head again, making Khale feel so open and exposed to the man. Taking hold of both of his wrists in one of his hands, Larken then pressed the fingers of his free hand to Khale’s mouth and Khale gladly accepted them, sucking on them until they were good and wet.

Book Three : Airos

Zane has everything in his life under control and in order, but can he keep it that way when a young dragon is thrown into his life?

Zane was meant to be a warrior—end of story. Though he may not have had the most pleasant life living at the coven, he still loved being there. Sorting out what he has to do, what he wants, and what's right for him will be the biggest challenge he's ever been faced with. Will he follow his heart or will he take the easy path…or is the easy path the right path to begin with?

The Finding Home Series Book 3 Airos by @_JenWright

It is my great pleasure to welcome back author of the Finding Home Series,
Jennifer Wright...

Thank you for having me as a guest today, HK!

I’ve been asked a few questions lately about my Finding Home Series, and a regular one seems to be, ‘how do your vampires and dragons differ from others?’ Well, considering I haven’t read every book out there that have vampires and dragons in them, I think I’d be better off just laying out who they are in my stories, and maybe someone will see something that sets them apart.

Let’s start with the vampires. Where the general thought of a vampire is that they’re undead – made by being bitten by a vampire – my vampires are born. They are their own species, not something that is created by a virus or some such thing as that. Also, like other vampires, they do need human blood to survive, but my vampires also need regular food (this I’m sure I’ve seen in another book as well, but isn’t as common). Their strength, acute senses and speed are also like other vampires, but I’ve added a few other things in – like some vampires cry blood, and some vampires eyes can shift which allows them to see portals that other vampires can’t see. Also, like in Zane’s case, vampires can be half-breeds of both vampire and human – I’m sure you can figure out how that happens. ;)

Now, the Dráguns/dragons. I think I confused a few people with these guys, so hopefully this’ll help. The species is the dragons, and Dráguns are dragons with a unique gene in them that they are born with. Dráguns are only male, and they only change from dragons to Dráguns when they hit manhood – at that age the gene inside them is more or less ‘activated’, turning them permanently into Dráguns. Drágun, like dragons, still look like human but they have solid black eyes (red ones when they’re angry). Dráguns are much stronger than dragons and they hold a higher superiority over dragons. The biggest difference between the two is that Dráguns can shift into an actual animal dragon form (think fire breathing dragons in fairytales), whereas dragons are only ever in a human form. Also, one way to tell dragons apart from humans, is that every dragon has yellow or amber colored irises.

Lastly, the mages. They really are like any other magical being, but go by different names by gender. All of the women are just known as witches. Children are referred to as witches, but, when they get older and their magic becomes stronger, the males become wizards, or warlocks if they’re really powerful. One things that stands out between the mages is that certain ones can be born with a special ability such as a healing power, being able to read minds, or, in Eli’s case, being able to move things with their mind. One other thing is that they live a little longer than humans.

And there you have it. Hopefully this helps. :)

Thank you, again, HK, for hosting me today!

Hope y’all enjoy this little teaser from my most recent release, Airos: Finding Home Series book 3, which you can buy and read today at Totally Bound! This offer goes through to November 14th, where it’s then on general release (buy it from Amazon, ARe, B&N, etc) on November 15th.

Book blurb:

A man he never saw coming has pushed the boundaries of what little normalcy he has, and learning of a secret love is just confusing him even more. Excerpt:

Zane forced himself to put one foot in front of the other. His mind was reeling so badly he could barely focus on walking. He couldn’t believe he’d kissed Bo. What had he been thinking?
Just being in the room with Bo had clouded his thoughts, his determination. When the man had stood up, naked and shiny from the water glistening on his skin, Zane’s senses had faded even more. But the fierceness in the dragon’s words as he’d yelled at him, crowding him until he could retreat no more…well, Zane wasn’t sure he’d ever felt that turned on before, and he hadn’t been able to stop himself from reaching out and pulling Bo closer.
Deep in his mind, he’d been screaming at himself to stop, that he shouldn’t be doing it, but the desire had outweighed it, smothering it.
Zane’s body vibrated at the memory of Bo’s hot skin beneath his touch. That small, lithe body wrapped around him—pressed against him. The sweet taste of Bo’s mouth had nearly done him in. He had been ready to take Bo right then and there.
He wasn’t quite sure what it had been that had pulled him back, that had made him realize what he’d been doing, but his next thought had been to get out of there as quickly as possible.
He didn’t know what to do anymore. He’d never felt so confused. The only thing he could think of to do was to talk to Larken—his friend had always been there for him.
Zane came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the hallway.
Oh gods, Larken.
Zane felt sick to his stomach. With everything that had been happening, he hadn’t even thought about his friend. Larken had been there when he ran outside, and must have been there when he’d come back in, but Zane had been so focused on Bo he hadn’t even thought of Larken. He couldn’t even imagine what the man was going through—finding out his best friend was a half-breed.
Swallowing down his guilt and regret, he continued, hoping Larken would give him the chance to explain.

Welcome Back Author Jennifer Wright

On the heels of her MM/Vampire/Paranormal hit Pavarus, Jen Wright is back and giving us a sneak peek to the second book in the Finding Home Series, Morvea. Jen also played along with my idea of an author interview.

http://authorjenwright.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/morvea-banner.jpg

Welcome back to Pick a Genre Already, Jen...

What was your favourite book as a child/teenager?

As a child, my favorite book was Are You My Mother by Dr. Seuss. I can’t even begin to count how many times I read that book. It was actually the first book I ever bought for my niece. As a teen, basically any book by Christopher Pike or Stephen King were my favorites.

    H K ~ Love Dr. Seuss

Who was the first author or what was the first book you read that introduced you to the genre that you most enjoy writing in?

In J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, J.R. has two characters that gained my attention to the m/m genre. Blay and Quinn are best friends – Blay is gay and in love Quinn, but Quinn is fighting his feelings for Blay. I was so intrigued by them (and I’m ecstatic that their story is finally coming up next) that I set out on a hunt for an m/m story. That’s when I found G.A. Hauser’s Boy Next Door. I’ve been hooked since with both reading - and soon to follow - writing m/m romance.

Do you believe in love at first sight? And if so have you ever been so afflicted? Did you do anything about it? (Did you go for it?)

I do believe in it, but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced it. I’ve had plenty of ‘lust at first sight’ as a teen, but I was quite guarded of my heart once I grew up. I was lucky enough to find the love of my life, though, and he and I will have been together for 7 years come this May. J

Is there a particular word you overuse or writing technique that your editor(s) ride you about? Mine is over using the word ‘harshly’.
Gosh, I wish there was only one. My worsts are desperately, just, looked up/down/over, eyes, and his heart soared/raced/ached/pounded in his chest/etc. When doing my edits for Morvea, I was almost appalled at how much I overused these.

Have you ever suffered from writer’s block? (Or do you even believe in it?) If so, how were you able to overcome it?

Yes, I do believe in it and have suffered from it many times. I really wish I knew what it is exactly that breaks my writer’s block. It’s more like the inspiration just hits me again full blast and I can’t be dragged away from my computer.

Do you base your characters on real-life people or situations?

No. I live enough of my real life as is, no need to keep at it in my writings. My stories are my escapes – I want them to be as far from my life (and the people in it) as I can. Not that there’s anything wrong with my life or the people in it, but I crave difference – something new and exciting.

What genre(s) do you write in?

I write both M/M and M/F romance ranging in contemporary, vampire, shifter, paranormal, western, light BDSM, and futuristic. Though I’m only published in M/M right now, there will be M/F stories in the future - hopefully soon.

Pick a Genre Already – darn you H.K. for coming up with such a brilliant title before me.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

My heart longs to be in the south (USA), but my family is here in Wisconsin and it’d be nearly impossible to leave them – well, it would mainly be nearly impossible to leave my sister (I love you mom, but my sissy-poo is my rock!).

If you could live in any era, which would it be?

I would love to experience living in the Middle-Ages, but only for a week because I don’t know what I’d do without the technology we have today. Beside, with how outspoken I am I’d probably be beheaded in no time – I am woman, hear me roar!

If you could bring one of your own characters to life, who would it be and why?

Ooh, that’s a good question! I’m really torn between two – I’d like to bring Wesley to life because he’s fun and spunky and I think we’d be great friends. But I would like to bring Zane (the real Zane, not the a-hole people believe him to be) to life because on a more reserved/personal level him and I are a lot alike, it’d be nice to have someone to relate to.

What are you reading right now?

Right now I’m on a J.R. Loveless kick and I’m reading His Salvation: The ADA Chronicles #1 and I’m absolutely loving it.

J.R. – wherever you are – please, please, PLEASE come out with book 2 soon. I need more!

If there was a movie made of your life what would it be called? Which celebrity would you want to play you?

I think a title with cuss words in it would never hit the box-office, so I’ll just call it ‘Are You Kidding Me!?’. And I’d pick Julia Roberts to play me because she’s my favorite actress, even though I’d probably be suited better using Matthew Perry (that’s right, a man) because of all his facial expressions and hand gestures – I can be very vocal without having to say a word. ;)

Lol! I just pictured Matthew in a dress!

If you were to do a reality show, which one would it be?

Even though I probably wouldn’t last a day, I’d love to be on Discovery’s ‘Deadliest Catch’. I never thought I could get addicted to watching a show about a bunch of men out on the Bering Sea catching crabs, but I have!

 What is the craziest, most exciting, or most dangerous thing you’ve ever done?

I am deathly afraid of heights, so naturally I seek out the adrenalin rush of my fear and go on rollercoasters, I stood on the edge of a couple of cliffs, and I even climbed a silo once because it looked ‘really tall’, but it’d have the be the private helicopter ride (sans the passenger door per my request) that was the craziest, most exciting, and most dangerous thing I’ve ever done.

     H K ~ Eeeekkk!!

Name a celebrity, athlete, musician, etc. you’d most like to get naughty with.

I’d have to pick Chris Hemsworth (Thor in the movie Thor, the huntsman in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman), I mean just look at him! The hair, the muscles, the accent! Phew! *fans face*

Favourite movie?

I honestly don’t think I have a favorite movie. Heck, I own over six hundred movies (no joke) so it’s hard to pick a favorite. But if I were to narrow it down I’d have to say Steel Magnolia’s. I can’t even begin to count how many times I’ve seen that movie – and yes, I cry every time.

    H K ~ Me too! Sniff. (I bawl every time I watch Step-Mom, too)

Dream Vacation?

I would love to take a two week (heck, I’d settle for a few days if it meant I’d get exactly what I want) vacation to a private horse ranch where I’d get to live out the life of a cowboy. Yes, I said cowboy. I’d want to be treated like one of the guys, not delicately or receive special treatment because I’m a girl.

Great vacation, right? Work till I ache, ride horses till I’m walking funny…ahhh, I can picture it already. J

Dream Car?

A 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with the complete HPE600 Turbo upgrade!

   Favourite Ice Cream Flavour?

 Caramel Cashew

      H K ~ OMG! There is such a thing? I feel deprived.

Please tell us about your new release.

I think the book blurb says it best, but I’ll give a little more insight to Morvea. It is about the vampire sire, Keddrick, and his human contact on Earth, Eli. As much as I love Keddrick, Eli steals the show in this book. Without giving too much away, I’ll just say that the many changes and challenges Eli goes through tops anything I’ve ever written.
Also, for anyone that is reading the series, I want to say that while Morvea focuses more on Earth and the Human Council, the perusal for the Drágun leader, Gravaick, is not forgotten and will continue in book 3.

The Finding Home series will take you to another realm where the warrior men of a vampire coven find love in the most unexpected ways.

In a place similar, yet so very different from our own, the vampires and dragons of Pavarus are at war with each other. Be it battles, magic, betrayal, or council members sticking their noses where they don’t belong, the vampires are determined to find and stop the Dragon leader and his malevolent ways.

The leading warriors of the coven never thought they’d find love along the way, but the men thrown in their paths rule their hearts, and there is no denying a destined mate...no matter who they are.

Blurb: Finding Home Book 2 Morvea

Keddrick has denied claiming his mate for four years, separating them by worlds just to keep the man he loves safe…from him. Can he resist temptation when his love lands on his doorstep in need of help?

Eli has lusted after Keddrick from the moment the vampire stepped through the portal and into Earth. He had desperately wanted to follow along when Keddrick returned to Pavarus, but it wasn’t allowed—not to mention that Eli was under the impression that Keddrick was straight. Four years later his wish has come true, but not in the way he wanted. Barely escaping death by the hands of Wayland, head of the human council on Earth, Eli flees to Pavarus in search of help. The line of events that gets him there releases a hidden secret deep inside him he never knew existed, and will soon change his life forever.

Keddrick’s restraint towards Eli is being seriously tested, and every day Eli stays with him at the coven, it gets harder. He wants to keep his distance, but at the same time he wants to do everything he can to please Eli. As time goes on, he feels his resolve slowly crumble, his love for the man too strong to ignore. When Keddrick finds out about Wayland’s threat on his and Eli’s lives, he is determined to stop the madman anyway he can, even if that means going against Eli’s pleas for him not to.

Through blood and tears, years of love and moments of betrayal, can these two men find their way through the hardships and into a life of happiness in each other’s arms?

Excerpt:

Eli gasped when another sharp pain sliced through his head. Groaning, he clutched at his skull as bright lights blinded his vision.

And with a flash, images flooded his mind like an old, silent picture show.

Flash.

Eli standing in his office with three men.

Flash.

Rick, Larry and him tied up in an old, abandoned warehouse.

Flash.

Wayland standing before him, accusing him and Keddrick of trying to rule Earth. Wayland confessing his own plans to rule Earth once he and Keddrick were ‘out of his way’.

Flash.

Larry dead—shot in the head.

Flash.

Him and Rick escaping.

Flash.

Eli getting shot and Rick face down on the pavement—dead.

Flash.

Eli lifting his hand to ward off his enemy.

Flash.

The man hurtling backwards into the street by an unseen force—then the car slamming into his body.

Eli sucked in a deep breath when his vision had cleared and he tried his hardest not to cry out.

“Eli?” Keddrick sounded alarmed, his words loud in Eli’s ear.

This time he did cry out when Keddrick grabbed his arm. The pain from the vampire’s touch had Eli jumping out of his chair and stumbling backwards till his butt hit the back of the couch. When a few of the men stood, he yelled, “Stay away from me!” The thought of anyone touching him made his skin burn.

“Eli, what is wrong?”

Keddrick’s words were more forceful this time, but Eli ignored them as a new surge exploded through his body. Every cell inside him felt like it was coming to life, vibrating and roaring for release.

He barely heard Keddrick’s order for someone to get Isa. Fuck that! He didn’t want that witch anywhere near him. This was all her fault anyway. The side effect of whatever she’d given him was wreaking havoc on his body. A hum sounded in his ears, and everything around him soon faded out as the hum became piercing.

He clutched at his head again and screamed.

~~~~
The sound of Eli’s screams cut at Keddrick’s soul. He wanted to go to his mate, to comfort him, but Eli’s warning had him rooted in place. It was hard, though, when the tears started streaming down Eli’s face. He stepped forward, ready to pull Eli into his arms anyway, when Aliam burst into the room with Isa.
When Aliam dropped her before him, she covered her ears and yelled angrily, “What is the meaning of this?”
He didn’t bother apologising, just said, “I need more of that potion you gave to Eli last night.”
“No!” she said. Keddrick growled at her. “No, he said he didn’t want my help,” she said as she pointed to Eli.
Eli’s screams continued to fill the air.
“Damn it, woman! Can’t you see he’s in pain?” Keddrick closed the little distance that was between them. “Help him. Now!” The words were so forceful the walls seemed to vibrate.
Isa’s eyes widened and she took a step back. “I—”
She was cut off by Wesley’s gasp. When Keddrick turned to look at him, his jaw dropped. The maps and papers that’d been scattered across the table now floated in the air. Keddrick glanced around the room, taking in all the items that hovered over the surfaces they’d once sat on. He flinched when Eli’s screams suddenly became louder, forcing everyone to cover their ears. The furniture began to shake before it too started to rise up—up and up till Keddrick could see the bottom of the couch.
Keddrick looked at Eli. The man’s face was red, his eyes squeezed shut, his head thrown back as his fingers clenched in his hair.
Suddenly, Eli’s screams stopped, and everything in the room came crashing down around them.
Keddrick reached Eli just before he hit the floor. Gathering his mate into his arms, he rushed to lie Eli down on the couch, amazed it hadn’t broken.
He cupped Eli’s face in his hands. “Eli, baby, wake up.”
About the Author:
I was born in Arizona, but have spent the better part of my life in Wisconsin.  While I enjoy living close to my family, my heart longs to live in the South – or anywhere where the winters are warmer, and I hope to someday get there.  I love writing, and try to dedicate as much of my free time to it (ha! what free time?).  If I’m not typing away on my laptop, you’ll find me with my nose buried in a book, or with my loving boyfriend debating on what movie to watch and the never ending back and forth decision of what we should have for dinner.  I love spending time with my family and boyfriend, cuddling with my two cats, and laughing as much as possible (cuz I like to think I'm funny J).
Some little tidbits about me are – I love horses and cats, I have a really big sweet-tooth, and I've been told I like to talk with my hands (insert hand gestures here).
Thanks for being my guest today, Jen. I love it when you drop by. It's always a blast.
